Greek Wars

  • Wars were very common in Ancient Greece. City States will fight each other, and often will get together to fight as allies.

  • Greek soldiers were trained to fight in lines. This way when they all march together, no arrows or spears could get through their walls of shields.

  • ARES was the great Olympian god of war; he spread order and mainly courage.

  • The helmet, heavy spear, the sword and shield were the equipment that defined the Greek Warrior.

  • Women were no allowed to participate on any war. The soldiers could be from 18 up to 60 years old
